Try using chicken manure as a fertilizer for your lawn if you want to keep up with the “green” movement by avoiding chemicals in every aspect of your life. One of the best organic fertilizers is chicken manure, which is valued for its low weed seed content. If your chicken manure has been properly composted, you can use it to get rid of the ammonia, or you can buy commercially mixed pre-composted manure from your neighborhood garden center.
Step 1: De-thatch the soil by raking the fertilized area. This helps get rid of any stones, leaves, or dead grass. Raking a newly seeded lawn will disturb the sprouts, so avoid doing so.
Stage 2: Measure the region to be prepared. We recommend applying commercial chicken manure at a rate of approximately 40 pounds per 100 square feet.
Step 3: Using a baseball chalk liner or twine, divide your 100-square-foot area into smaller, equally spaced sections.
Step 4: Divide the 40-pound bag of chicken manure into equal portions and divide them among the marked-off sections.
Step 5: Transfer a divided amount of chicken manure to a section using your bucket. Toss the manure over the grass or seeded area with a cup or gloves. This step should be repeated for each section until all sections are finished.
Step 6: Apply water to your lawn to help the manure sink into the soil. The high nitrogen content of manure can burn grass, so it is best not to leave it on the tender shoots.
